FITZ H. MCLYMONT

2004-2006 & 2010-2012

Fitz H. McLymont, a native of Jamaica where he migrated from to the United States in January 1970.  His educational background includes attending the New York City Technical College from 1973 to 1976 and the City University of New York from 1977 to 1982. He also attended Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida for Microsoft Certifications in Computer Networks.
Prior to coming to Miami-Dade Transit, Mr. McLymont was employed with the following companies: Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., New York (Computer Operator); King County Systems Services, Seattle, Washington (Computer Room Supervisor); Miami-Dade County Computer Services Division, Miami-Dade County (Teleprocessing Coordinator); and Miami-Dade Transit Information and Technology Services (Senior Network Manager).  
As President, the Miami Chapter serving for two consecutive terms (2004-2006 & 2006-2008), the Chapter received COMTO’s top three awards; Chapter of the Year (2004 & 2008), Thomas G. Neusom Founders’ Award, and the Best Membership Recruitment/Retention Activities Award in 2005. Mr. McLymont was also re-elected as Chapter President in 2010 and served until his retirement in 2011.
Additional awards won during his tenure as President were the Gerald A. Anderson Sibling Award in 2006 and the Multi-modal Innovation Award in 2007.
Since his retirement from Miami-Dade Transit in July 2011, he started his own company with two of his sons, THE McLYMONT GROUP, LLC. Network Management and Information Technology Solutions, of which he is the President and CEO.
